a sweet finale to valentine's day

hadley and i had a sleepy start this morning. now that i've had plenty of coffee, things are looking up! I kept waking up worried last night. a sweet mama friend of mine had to take her 4-week-old to the hospital because of a fever. this also meant leaving her almost 2 -year-old with family and disrupting his bedtime routine. certainly too much for a mom to have to handle on top of everyday life with a newborn and a toddler!

i very vividly remember those first weeks with a baby.

they seem so small and fragile. you {almost} miss being pregnant because they felt fully protected from the outside world. thankfully the little guy is doing much better this morning!

last night, jon and i and officially wrapped up valentine's. my new rain boots arrived at our doorstep. i don't think hadley has ever been more impressed.

the color. the rubber. the buckles. she could not contain herself.

 

 

i also finished my photo update endeavor by replacing a few photos in the frames jon keeps at work.

he has been saying for months that people keep congratulating him on the "new baby" because they see the newborn photos in his office.
