church, lunch, chaos

today started out like any other sunday. we woke up and hustled to get ready for church.

BUT IN THE MIDST OF IT ALL, SOMETHING BIG HAPPENED.

little lady officially tee-teed in her Minnie mouse potty for the first time. she got it for christmas and it sits in the corner of her nursery. hadley greets it every morning by blowing it a kiss from her crib. she sits on it twice a day, once before her bath in the morning and once before bedtime. today was the first time it's seen any real action. this gives me hope. i'm planning to give potty-training boot camp a try in march while jon is out of town. i'm probably crazy, but i just have a feeling that hadley is almost ready to give diapers the boot.

once the celebration was over, we continued the sunday morning scramble. i got a little carried away with the warm weather. i put hadley in a very-springy smocked dress because i could not wait one more minute for her to wear it.

jon said it felt like easter weekend with all the dressing up and photo taking. hadley wasn't too big on taking pictures either.
okay. bye.

every week at church is really a toss up in regards to hadley's behavior. she never acts badly, but today she was just antsy. she wanted to walk all up and down the aisles, flirt with the boy scout troop behind us, and throw snacks everywhere.

my mom, jon and i took turns taking her outside to burn off energy. i don't think anyone came away with a legitimate understanding of the sermon because we were all focused on hadley. sometimes i wonder if we should go regularly with her at this age, but a couple of weeks ago when hadley and i went by ourselves she spent the entire service asking for her uma. i realized we are already building routines and traditions, so the weekly struggle {not reallllly a struggle} is worth it.

hadley was equally wiggly at lunch. we went to the domain and ate on north's patio because the weather was wonderful. we again took turns wrangling her.

jon got incredibly sweaty and uncomfortable when hadley started throwing everything on the floor. few things embarrass him, but he cannot handle the idea of annoying wait staff.

once we got home, naps were in order for all of us. i think hadley is ready for valentine's day to pass. i've been dressing her in every heart-themed outfit she owns, regardless of size.
midriff.

speaking of clothes, i've been complaining all week about having zero non-churchy clothes for hadley to wear with the warmer weather. after jon and hadley went to bed, i perused baby gap's presidents day sale. i found some awesome deals. i've also started buying things that i think hadley will "like"...a shirt covered in parrots? girlfriend freakin' loves birds. a top with a bunny on a bicycle? every toddler's dream come true. is this some sort of gateway drug into character clothing?
